Pallingham Manor Farm is a 600 acre private Estate set in an area of outstanding beauty within West Sussex. The Pallingham Shoot is set in the middle of that area which borders both the River Arun and the South Downs.
The Pallingham Shoot was originally established to create a private simulated shoot during the summer months, at the end of the gaming season, with the aim of creating the atmosphere of a ‘live bird’ experience.
The preferred number of guns for our shoot is 12, however, we will endeavour to accommodate slightly higher or small numbers on request. The format of the day is as follows:
- The party is split into two Teams (A & B);
- Team A shoots first with Team B providing advice and loading, followed by Team B;
- Each gun fires between 300-400 cartridges (which replicates a 500-600 live bird driven day)
The Shoot provides six drives on the day with targets that will excite the most desiring guns!
The six Promatic traps are fully automatic and oscillate. There are three traps, hidden from view, which are mounted on a telly handler to give high targets, with the other three in the back of a 4x4 for slightly lower, faster targets, and ease of movement between drives, that are both undulating and challenging.
The day commences,at The Cricketers, with a Safety Briefing together with hot sausages and bacon rolls; coffee or tea; followed by Three Drives (with drink breaks in-between) and then Lunch. In the afternoon, there are a further Three Drives ending with a Hunter’s Dinner, and a Pint or two, in our local pub, The Cricketers in Wisborough Green.
